Chin Up

Do everything without complaining or arguing. --Philippians 2:14

Yesterday was one of those days. We had a 2-hour long Biochemistry exam to start off the day. It consisted of 40 multiple choice questions and I swear it took me at least 5 minutes to read and think through most of the questions so let's just say I felt brain dead by the time it was over.

To top it off we had an afternoon full of neuroanatomy lecture and lab where we are dissection sheep brains. Sheep brain anatomy equals fun. Neuro is definitely not my favorite class. So anyways, I was being especially whiny. About everything. About how lame vet school is sometimes. And I hate being whiny. I'm usually a positive, upbeat gal and I hate being around Debbie Downers.

So it made me think about that verse. Sounds easy enough right? Some days, its hard. Just remember that your situation really isn't that bad. There's probably someone out there who has problems worse then yours. So chin up, and quit complaining. : )

Meet Riley

This is Riley. Isn't she cute?

She's our new puppy at my parents'. Sadly, she's about 4x bigger now than she is in this photo that was taken over a month ago. I wish they would stay this cute forever! Not that she won't be cute all grown up.

Happy March!

Something New

So I've decided to go out on a limb start my own blog. I really enjoy reading other people's blogs about dairy farming, country life, photography, veterinary medicine and so on.  They have all inspired me to start my own in the hopes of shedding some light on something that I am passionate about--the dairy industry.

I spent the first 22 years of my life growing up on my family's dairy farm in Northwestern Pennsylvania and loved every minute of it. After graduating from Penn State in May 2010 and getting married, my husband and I moved to Wisconsin where I am a first year veterinary student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss my family, the farm and the beautiful sights of PA. When I get out of vet school (in 2014, which seems like light years away) I'd like to practice food animal veterinary medicine focusing on dairy cattle.

Anyways, that's enough about me for now. Please visit again soon!
